Al-Anon Information Service Liaison (AISL) Report

On a personal note:

Hello Al-Anon Family. A lot has been going on for me since I stood here and gave my report in March. My Ala-Baby, Evan, is 11 months and I’m getting ready to give him a birthday party and getting ready for his Baptism—good things, but it takes a lot of planning. My dog is getting a new home today. Good for the dog and the family, but there is still going to be a lot of grief involved. I’ve been making lots of meetings. I just completed working another fourth and fifth step. It’s really amazing what happens when I invite my Higher Power into life more often. My sponsor holds a monthly meeting on the step of the month and we read from the Paths to Recovery; then we go over the questions at the end. I really like the intimacy of the small group and how we share on the step of the month. Because I’ve been so busy, the first chance that I had to look at our information was last night or…wait ….that was this morning(1:18am as I edit this report). So here are just a few tidbits and reminders. It may be too much or not enough. I’m pretty sure, as my perfectionism tells me, that it’s one of the two. Gratefully, I am not supposed to get it right, or I have to give up my job…and I love my job. So here goes:

Forum- Do you have a subscription? Does your group? All new groups get the first year subscription for free. Have you written to the Forum? There are from sharing sheets on the internet. I once held a writing meeting as my meeting topic when I chaired. We sent those in and someone was published. Plus, everyone liked the time to sit and think before sharing…it gave them time to listen without preparing what they were going to say.
