Al-Anon Information Service Liaison’s Report
For January 20, 2007
- Please send me information about anything that is happening in your group. A few sentences about something new or tried will be very helpful. Also, if you are a chairperson, please send me information on what you have done this year in your service position or what you have learned in your service position that I can share with everyone in Ocala. That way TJ has something to share at the Area World Service Committee meeting in Ocala.
- The Alateen Resource Coordinator Position is vacant. If you are willing, there is a need. Please give me your information so that I can submit to our Delegate.
Please make sure to bring your service manuals to the next assembly in June. June 1-3, 2007. Rooms fill up quickly! Please make your reservations. Steinbrenner’s Ramada Inn, 3810 Bonnie Heath Blvd, Ocala FL 34482, 1-800-715-1070 or 1-352-732-3131 I-75 exit 354 Room cost is $65 plus 8.5% tax (If you are a GR, your group should cover the expenses for 1/2 the room and your meals, gas) You will need a roommate.
- At the meet and greet on Friday night, we will be showcasing districts. More information to come later on this.

- From the Delegate’s Report:
- US Southeast Regional Service Seminar will be March 16-18 in Charleston, West Virginia at the Holiday Inn Charleston House. Accommodations include two nights and four meals (rates are per person and include all taxes and gratuities) Single: $215, Double $146.00 pp, Triple $123.00pp, Quad: $111.50pp. The meal package alone is &77.00 including gratuities and tax.
- Post your personal story on-line at www.recoverymonth.gov or www.drugfree.org, or www.facesandvoicesofrecovery.org.
- 2007 World Service Conference will be held at the Ramada Plaza Resort Oceanfront, 5700 Atlantic Avenue, Virginia Beach, VA 23451-2236 from April 22-26, 2007. The theme will be “New Thinking-New Ideas-Abundant Outlook”
Announcements:
- I will not be attending the March Area World Service Committee Meeting. I have asked TJ to go in my place and she has agreed. J Hopefully, she will be able to report to you after the meeting as well, seeing as I may be busy with family affairs. J
- Meal allowances for Assembly and AWSC have been changed to $9 for breakfast, $12 for lunch, and $14 for dinner for the officers and coordinators. Please share with your group to see if they are willing to also make these changes for the GRs.
- April 14, 2007-NFA 2007 Service Seminar “Service: The Secret is Out” at Ascension Catholic Church 2950 N Harbour City Blvd Melbourne, FL 32935. Registration is $5.00 Registration forms are available.
- The last Saturday of every month, there is a speaker meeting at the Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine. The meetings start at 7pm and people bring desserts to share. Also, the meeting is in is the Wolfe Room.
