District 4 DR Report

At the last district meeting we covered a lot of ground, so this month I don’t have a lot to do. First I want to know who distributed the Forum contest slips to your group and explained how it works. If you haven’t, please remember to do so...it gives the members of your group the opportunity to share their recovery with the worldwide fellowship. How many of you have submitted sharings to the Forum yourselves? I encourage you to do that, then consider sharing what you’ve written with your group, even if you just pass it around for others to read during the meeting. I’ll be honest and tell you that I have not yet submitted a sharing, but I will issue you a commitment and a challenge: I will send a sharing to the Forum in the next month and bring it to the August district meeting. I challenge each of you to do the same. I can’t wait to see what we’ve had to share!

The other topic I have for discussion right now involves our meeting format. Someone mentioned to me a few months ago that we used to peruse our minutes via e mail or snail mail between district meetings rather than reading them aloud here. If we decide to do that, it will just take care of a few minutes of business and give us a little more flexibility (not to mention improving the odds of finishing early). I’d like to give this a try, but I really want to know what you guys think.
